An alternative to charcoal is the use of biofuels such as green charcoal, produced from all kinds of organic residues. Since 2017, Initiatives Climat has been carrying out a range of activities related to green charcoal: identifying producers, organising training and international meetings, designing production equipment. The need for structuring the actors in the green charcoal was a necessity. To meet this need, the "African Green Charcoal Cluster" was created.
